We are excited to share our workshop with you. I have just recently moved to Airlie with my partner and wanted to share and connect with our new community.

Most people don't realise physiotherapists are trained to treat lungs and that breathing muscles are core/postural muscles too.

1. Informed Consent:

1.1 Physiotherapy Workshop

This workshop is generally an effective and safe form of movement however like any intervention there are benefits and risks. We will discuss options for movement with the group so that you are appropriately informed and can make decisions relating to your choice in participating. Your express consent will be asked prior to any physical contact or adjustment. 

1.2 Breathing Re-Training

Breathing Re-training treatment is generally an effective and safe form of treatment when practiced strictly within comfort levels as monitored by measured by participant's self report and other measures such as heart rate and respiratory rate.

 

You may choose to consent or refuse any part of the workshop for any kind of reason. Once you have given consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. Please inform your practitioner if you feel uncomfortable at any time.

 

2. Confidentiality and Privacy

We collect your information with your consent. Your information will not be released to any other party without consent, unless required by law.
2.1 Exceptions to confidentiality
Your practitioner may consult their clinical supervisor to provide the best possible care. These consultations are for professional and training purposes.
 

3. Risks Related to Treatment

3.1 Physiotherapy workshop

The physiotherapist will discuss any foreseeable risks with you prior to your participation. The risk related to some movements can increase if the practitioner is not aware of any pre-existing health conditions, certain facts including presence of a pacemaker, suffering with diabetes, suffered from blood clots, thrombosis or stroke, current medications and any other health condition you suffer from.

3.2 Breathing Re-training

Breathing re-training does not take the place of medical treatment and when in doubt you should consult your doctor. You agree not to attempt to teach breathing re-training to other individuals. Medical conditions including pregnancy, treatments, medications or information changes must be shared with your practitioner to ensure risks are managed. The outcome of Breathing Re-training is often positive; however, the level of satisfaction for any individual is not predictable. Full responsibility is taken by the patient in case of negative outcomes.

3.3 Psychotherapy

If you currently/previously suffer/ed from a mental illness experiencing psychosis it is important to inform your clinician. Inclusive of but not limited to; bipolar, borderline personality disorder, schizophrenia etc. This is to ensure your safety. Full responsibility is taken by the patient in case of negative outcomes.

3.4 COVID19

We do our best to protect ourselves and our clients against COVID19 by following guidelines including but not limited to hand hygiene, cleaning, social distancing and masks. However, in order to continue to offer our health services, you agree to release Zephyr Movement from any liability related to exposure to COVID19 illness. Furthermore, you agree to take personal responsibility for reducing your risk of spreading COVID19. If you or any other persons present with you at appointments have any COVID related symptoms, (such as coughing, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose, acute blocked nose, headache, muscle or joint pains, nausea, diarrhoea, vomiting, loss of sense of smell, altered sense of taste, loss of appetite and fatigue), you/they will get tested immediately and alert Zephyr Movement as soon as possible to any change in COVID status (eg COVID test result). Finally, you agree to give appropriate notice if unable to attend the workshop, as per section 4.0

4. Workshop Etiquette + Cancellation Policy
